JUSTICE SOCIETY THE MOVIES
by Renaud Bédard

As much as I would like to see each golden age Justice Society members get their own movies, I have to admit that those first original legends would be great together as well, specially in edgy scary Sandman Mystery Theatre or Alfred Hitchcock style; and besides, there is soooooooo much live-action film potential with the Justice Society Of America that it would be crazy not to do it
And it would be nice to see together in movies some of DC Comics original legends such as Dr Charles McNider Doctor Mid-Nite, Ted Grant the Wildcat, Al Pratt the Atom, Jim Corrigan the Spectre, Jay Garrick the Flash, Alan Scott the Green Lantern, Kent Nelson Dr Fate, Terry Sloane Mister Terrific, Wesley Dodds the Sandman, Rex Tyler the Hourman, Ted Knight Starman, Diana Prince Wonder Woman, Dinah Drake the Black Canary, Carter Hall the Hawkman, Sylvester Pemberton the Star-Spangled Kid, Johnny Thunder with his Thunderbolt Yz, and even short cameos of Bruce Wayne the Batman, Clark Kent the Superman, and maybe even Billy Batson the Captain Marvel, all for one picture perfect golden age snap shot

- JSA ORIGIN -
In a first movie of this Justice Society film franchise, the origin of each original JSA members like Green Lantern, the Flash, Spectre, Hourman, the Atom, Dr Fate, Hawkman, and Sandman, would be briefly told, possibly with a few highlights like Alan Scott versus Solomon Grundy, and other heroes versus villains, and all leading up to the Justice Society’s first gathering, along with their very first encounter with no other than Per Degaton the ultimate supervillain time traveller
- JSA THE LIBERTY FILES -
The second film of this quatrology, would be one where we could see the consequences of altered history due to the actions of Per Degaton, where reality would suddenly looks more like some bizarre Else World universe, with the formation and members of the Justice Society somehow altered; until history is somehow restored from this nightmare back to its beginning with the element that changed everything removed; and with the return of Ted Knight the original Starman, with his key role in history to be, before him, for a brief moment would appear within a bright blinding light the silhouette of some strange yet familiar future Stargirl, before disappearing, with more to be revealed in future times
- JSA STRANGE ADVENTURES -
In the third film, with Johnny Thunder in trouble, tensions run high among certain members of the group, like the Atom not too harm at the idea of new members like Starman, Doctor Mid-Nite, Star-Spangled Kid, Black Canary, Mister Terrific, and especially about this Wildcat joining the team; that is until back to back, they are forced to fight some of their greatest enemies with the forces of Lord Dynamo, where the heroes gain much respect about each other and become best buddies
- JSA GENERATIONS -
Based on JSA issues 68 to 71 from 2005 (JSA vs JSA), the fourth film would introduce some of the next generations of JSAers, with Per Degaton making his return and trying to mess up their timeline and all of history with his own little time war, forcing JSA present team to intervene into the past during a darker era for superheroes that were forced to reveal themselves and become political pawns, or go underground and disappear. Possibly with one small change to the ending of the comic book story, as Al Pratt the Atom, and possibly a few others, would make the trip through time towards their future, and returning to the society for justice
- WILDCAT VESUS THE ATOM -
And even if mostly serious live-action films, there could still be room for a few funny moments, like the original Atom Al Pratt with his small compact size short fuse hot temper ready to explode at any time, taking on the new guy Wildcat; and others like Green Lantern or Doctor Mid-Nite having to play mediators to calm things down between the hot heads, all which would become best of friends in the end, possible gaining respect for which other, right in the heat of battle against the real enemy
- THE POWER OF HAWKMAN -
The original Hawkman, Carter Hall, what if he had the power of flight all along, like something from his previous life had followed him and was lifting him off the ground, and from the very beginning he never really needed any artificial contraption; but only years later, high up in mid-air, after losing his ninth metal wings in battle, would the truth be revealed to him and realize that something very ancient within, was making him fly
- FROM SOCIETY TO LEAGUE OF JUSTICE -
Also in future movies, it would be nice to see some legendary classic Justice Society members like Alan Scott and Jay Garrick being offered memberships in the Justice League, but out of loyalty for their own members and original team the Justice Society, they would decline the invitation, but instead would send the next generation of superheroes on their way with their blessings, and possible even recommendations for an other Green Lantern and Flash, Hal Jordan and Barry Allen, and wish them the best of luck
PS: Please release in medium oversize high quality paper fat hardcover Omnibus collection, JSA issues 1 to 87 including all in between, also The Justice Society Returns, JSA All Stars, JSA Strange Adventures, and the elseworld JSA: The Liberty Files, JSA Classified; also please more JSA All-Stars golden age DC Archives without repeating what was already released solo, but certainly more of Johnny Thunder, The Mighty Atom, Hourman, Dr. Mid-Nite, Wildcat, and possibly a show of other characters like the Star-Spangled Kid, and continuing solo golden age Green Lantern DC Archives volume 3 & 4
