Ok everyone.........the Chester report is here....via email to Mary as my pc is being mega naughty right now.........Will try to make it as interesring as I can..........
Tuesday 23rd was the first time I KNEW I was actually going.......and then I spent all night trying to find a b&b to stay in.........Shannon, my 9 year old, then spent the next 3 days being EXTRA nice, and loving and helpful to
me.................MMMMMM wonder why?  hee hee!!  Finally Friday arrived.......off to work at 9am with the 2 kids.......NIGHTMARE......and busy busy busy.........finish at 1pm....RUSH home  to sort stuff out etc............Jay then decides to have a mad crying fit cos he wants to come too!!  No time AT ALL to chat to Mary before we leave.......(sorry Hun!!)
 Then we finally get off to the train station..........lovely hot day...............TRAIN
WAS LATE........and FULL.........!!  Chester at last at 4.30.......finds the b&b..........nice cuppa, wash and changed...then Shannon decides she is hungry...........off to Macdonalds for a Happy meal............in between
getting told off by Mary......lol..and told to HURRY UP!!!!  Luckily Macs was just round the corner to the park............and we finally arrived.........box office????  SHED!! LOL!!  Shannon politely informed the
girl that Marina couldn't come but there was 'Jeannette & 1' off Tony..........the girl laughed and handed her an envelope..........in we went!  my firststop was the beer tent........ to the yells of HURRY UP MUM WE CAN GET TO THE FRONT!!!!!!!  and Shannon was gone..............LOL!  Well we waited for an hour or so........got talking to a nice couple beside us....who thought Shannon was sooooo sweet (?????) and it was nice to see Vic and her friends all there too!!  7ish Heaven 17 came onstage.........and half way thru their set Shannon announced that they were BORING...........after them ABC.......so I kinda bopped away to them........and Shannon had a good laugh at Martin Frys GOLD suit!!  Well we waited. and waited........and lots of messages to Mary via mobile.....hee hee...........then FINALLY on they came!!   Shannon was so pleased......hee....I was too....kinda.....LOL!   Cant remember wot they sang now.......been ill since then hee.........but the crowd loved them......Steve got a bra thrown at him during Motivator...........and when he actually got it he promptly swung it round his head!!  Tone seemed to be suffering a bit with a sorethroat/cough.......but he was as brill as always............when he finally spotted us Shannon was so made up...lol....she still aint got over it...........nearly as good as Ronan grinning at her she said......???????????.........sadly due to my darling daughter almost falling asleep I couldn't wait to see Tone after the show.................but
as always I will be  dropping him a line to say THANK U,etc etc..........!! 
Just cant wait until December now........Mary will be there too and we will be celebrating Xmas early...............lol .......and .....................
there will be NO Shannon to fall asleep on me..hee hee!!

Friday 26th July, what a glorious day ! What could be better for our trip to Chester and an open air 80s concert.......Decided to book into hotel and make a night of it - the last time we did this we ended up in the room next to Tony !!!! (Park Hall, Chorley Nov 2001)..

 

Got our now usual position in the crowd - the front - gave up jostling for a decent view of the guys when we were 15 !Did some excellent people watching for a while - we were especially puzzled by people laying down rugs and opening hampers - what will they do when HKN come on ?.... all the butties'll get squashed and the fizzy pop knocked over !!

 

Spotted John and Steve in the wings while enjoying Heaven 17.....however this only fuels our excitement of what's to come ......

 

HKN are last - headlining yet again !!! Fantastic !...The atmosphere was tremendous and the guys were lapping up every minute - it was all very nostalgic for us and them ! 2k/3k people singing True back to Tony - it must have been real goosebumps time ! Oh...but the 'bra' thing !!.... Well..... the first attempt, by whoever, to throw this bra failed - miserably. It fell short of the stage and also failed to gain the attention of Tony or Steve - John didn't have a cat in hells chance behind his drums ! My friend used her femine charm to call security over -it worked ! Why was I suprised... this is my best mate who had guys wrapped around her little finger, since leavers camp in 1984! She chose her space, her time and aimed - Steve caught and giggled !!! I felt a little embarassment - mother of 2 young girls hurling white bras at saxophone God !! It was very tongue in cheek, and I'm sure Steve took this in the way it was intended.

 

Amongst all the adulation and heavy breathing...HKN work very hard on stage...they're skilled and experienced musicians....not only that but they have retained their ability to have a good time, and not to take themsleves too seriously - enjoying the moment while it lasts !.......and long may this continue !!!!.....Can't wait to go through all this again......please can anyone out there let me know what's next on the horizon.....what's the Liverpool thing ?...Take care all HKN fans...x..
