Retinoic Acid

Q. What is retinoic acid and why do you only apply solutions that contain Retinoic Acid at night?

A. Retinoic Acid works as a chemical peel and allows for better penetration of the Minoxidil to the follicles. Since Retinoic Acid is degraded by strong sunlight there is no benefit to using it during the day.

Q. How long as Retinoic Acid been added to Minoxidil Solutions?

A. At least since 1986 when the findings of an excellent study showed that topical Retinoic Acid (Tretinoin) helped promote hair growth.

Q. Are there any side effects using Retinoic Acid?

A. Retinoic Acid is a chemical peel and may cause irritation in some people. Chronic use of Retinoic Acid on the skin can make the skin become more sensitive to sun burn.
