I have been around since 97, and finally I have gotten seriouse aboutmy recovery! I can actually feel the difference the steps are making in my life this time. I focus most of my energys on recovery, and self improvement in any way possible. I have dreams that I have no doubt I will reach - places I will go things I will accomplish etc... and I know as long as I do the footwork and stay clean/sober, those dreams are obtainable. One of my favorite quotes "Recovery is like a rollercoaster, get in buckel up and embrace the ride of your life. If you dont buckel up, or deciede to get off - you are going to take quite a fall - there is no gaurentee that you will servive the fall!"

Thanks to the fellowship and encouragement of people like you (not to mention much needed assistance of a higher power that works) I have been able to reclaim what was left of my life, and discovered along the way that drugs and alcohol wasn't my real problem, just a symptom of a bigger problem-ME. For those of you who doubt this program, I say keep coming back, it really does work if you work it.

I have had moments in my recovery when if not for the people in this room I would have lost so much more than my clean date. I wish for all those suffering to get and keep this gift given to me by the people of recovery, for me, the steps have helped, sponsors have helped,many prayers have helped. but it has always been the people who have been here that kept me coming back. Six days after watching the tragic events take place; with my wife in the room; but never feeling more alone in my life. I am now; for the 1st time, beginning to have a TRUE relationship with my 5 children. My daughter told her husband yesterday that it sure was great to have her dad in her life. Moments like that make it all worth while! This is my last week of working my 2nd full time job; so I'll be sharing more starting next week. Ya'll have helped me make it through days when meetings have not been an option. Thanks! Love! Ron

I have completely Surrendered from this Cunning, Baffling and Powerful and Very Sneaky Disease and I have been clean and sober since April the 6th, 2003 ! and I am a very grateful person indeed, I have been in this program for long periods of time and what I have learned is as they say... "it is the first drink that get's you" then one is too many and a thousand is never enough!

MyName is Bob McG. I'm from NL, Canada, and live in Lewisporte, having lived in St. John's for all of my 63 years to date.
Iwas on the Program for about 13 years, and went out for "further reseach about 20 uyears ago, and came back on May 17, 2002.
I need online support, as I've moved to an area with only three meetings a week within reasonable driving distance. Thanks for listening.

Hi family, its been along time in getting this privalige to share my experiences with whom ever needs them. My hope is to help another person whos life has become unmanagable ithout them knowing how or why. through the working of these princapals my life has changed with me knowing about it last. My concerns are usually of a spiritual nature and have an open mind. my biggest probelem is me and i'll be the first to tell you that. my road to recovery has been ,long and i've made many mistakes, just kept comming back.for that deep set peace that i saw when i first came around in 1973. havn't left these rooms since then.

The life I have been blessed with I wouldn't trade it in for anything. Almost 11 yrs ago when I found this way of life, I was homeless, jobless, and a bum.
