Danny Valentine

Played by David Judge  September 2007- Present

The cheeky and happy go lucky, Danny Valentine is the illegitimate son of Leo Valentine and arrived in the village when his mother drops him and his younger sister Lauren, off at the Valentine residence and demanded that Leo looks after them while she takes up a holiday in Greece. Both Danny and Lauren were totally unknown to their half brother Calvin and half sister Sasha, and it wasn't until Danny referred to Leo as ’dad’ that they realised that Leo had been living a double life. Danny settled in the village quick and well as became close with Calvin. He also became good friends with Justin Burton, while getting  a date with Mercedes McQueen.

When the hot water boiler in the Halls broke down, Jessica Harris offered Danny £50 to fix the boiler. Despite telling her he had little experience fixing boilers he agreed to help. While examining the box, he noticed a hole while was causing the pilot light to go out and Danny blocked up the hole with newspaper. Unfortunately, this caused a build up of carbon monoxide and later at a house party the gas caused everyone to feel ill.

At this time, Danny was on a date with Mercedes in the SU Bar and kissed but were interrupted by a phonecall from Justin, saying that Katy had passed out as well as everyone else. They rushed back and Danny helped Justin pull everyone out of the room. Danny refused a lift from Darren, who suggested he ought to go to hospital to be checked, but Danny refused and ran off. Jess visited him the following day, suggesting that the two of them keep a low profile. However, Danny could not take the guilt and confessed the truth to Mercedes. Jacqui overheard, threatening to beat him up, but Mercedes told her to let him go. Later, Myra and Jacqui forced Danny into confessing that Jess was the one who allowed him to fix the boiler, leaving the McQueen’s to sue Jess.

After learning his lesson from his oilier fitting disater in the halls, Daany began to do electronic amends around the village accomened sometimes by Justin. Soon, Danny was set to meet the girl in Hannah Ashworth at the SU bar and the pair both instantly attracted to one another. After exchanging numbers, they shared a passionate snog in the bike sheds at HCC. However, the relationship wasn’t to run smoothly as Danny discovered that Hannah had suffered from an eating disorder and he told her that he supported her, while Hannah’s father Neville was reluctant to see Danny dating his daughter. Neville warned Danny that him dating Hannah may not be good for her rehabilitation, making Danny agree to end his relationship with Hannah. Hannah was hurt by this and tried to accept it initially, but discovering that the real reason her father disliked Danny was because he was black Hannah chased Danny and got back with him. There relationship stood firm an even the relationship between Danny and Neville got better in time.

Danny was to receive a photo from Mercedes of Hannah fixing her top with Darren, making Danny believe that Darren slept with Hannah. This lead to Danny punching Darren, dumping a bewildered Hannah and subsequently sleeping with Mercedes. However, Danny does no know that Mercedes and Darren had a bet where Darren said that she can sleep with Hannah and Darren took a incriminating photo of a drunken Hannah and sent it to a unconvinced Mercedes who tried to split Danny and Hannah up.
