 Scripture

Proverbs 19
15Laziness casts one into a deep sleep,
And an idle person will suffer hunger.

We eat because we are bored - think of something to do (NOT go to the fridge though!)

Proverbs 27
7A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb,
But to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

Get thinking right and eat correctly! Make wise decisions not to indulge!

Proverbs 13
25The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul,
But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

Eat to satisfy the soul because the body is lustful - it will always want more

Proverbs 10
3The LORD will not allow the righteous soul to famish,
But He casts away the desire of the wicked.

Spiritually we will not starve and God will not let us starve physically either!

Proverbs 15
15All the days of the afflicted are evil,
But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.

Depressed people eat more - Rejoice in the Lord and you will be satisfied spiritually and will not reach for food as a source of comfort!

Proverbs 23
2And put a knife to your throat
If you are a man given to appetite.

God takes over indulging seriously! It shows lack of discipline and a sense of not being in control!

Proverbs 25
16Have you found honey?
Eat only as much as you need,
Lest you be filled with it and vomit.

Eat with temperance (self-control) because one of the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23) is temperance!

Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Proverbs 30
8Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches--
        Feed me with the food allotted to me;

Lord give me the right food to eat - take away all temptation to eat junky, no-nutritional value foods!

Proverbs 23
3Do not desire his delicacies,
        For they are deceptive food.

Delicacies are foods high in sugar! Sugar has no nutritional value whatsoever!

Leviticus 3
17"This shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor blood."'

Leviticus 7
23"Speak to the children of Israel, saying: "You shall not eat any fat, of ox or sheep or goat

Fat in all of its forms is bad for you.

Romans 8
26Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

The Lord will help in our quest to gain a healthy physical body - which I believe will help us gain a healthy Spiritual body too!

Pray and sanctify your body to Him daily and ask for the strength to help you on your quest to healthy eating!
