INDIANA STATE FAIR

DISPLAY AND VOLUNTEER
AT THE STATE FAIR FOR CHINA PAINTING.
VOLUNTEER
The Indiana State Fair has become one of the main events for China Painters in Indiana to promote the fine art of China Painting. Amy Carroll is the Chairperson for the China Painters display at the Indiana State Fair. Amy could use your help in the following area's:
- The week before the State Fair could you volunteer a couple of hours to help clean the display cabinets?
- During the week of registration for the china display could you help check items in at the fair grounds?
- Could you donate some time during the judging and after to set up the display cases?
- If you are coming to the Fair would you offer to bring items for other Guild members?
- During the time the Fair is open could you demonstrate 2-4 hours or more if your interested? This is very important because this is when adults and children get a better understanding of how china is hand painted and hopefully would become more interested in learning to paint. You do not have to be an expert on china painting. People just want to understand the basics. Bring one of your friend's to share this experience with you?
- Do you have time after the fair closes to come and help disperse the china and prizes?
If you are interested call Amy Carroll at 317-247-4761 and say “I would like to help promote china painting at the Indiana State Fair”.

APPLICATION DEADLINE JULY 1, 2008.
When you display at the Fair part of your entry fee will be given back to you in Fair tickets. If you can not use the tickets they are great for donating to schools, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scout groups. If you demonstrate you will receive one free ticket to get into the Fair grounds. Sorry, but the cost of parking is at your own expense.
Some reminders if you are displaying:
- Make sure to put your name and phone number, not only on your piece, but on all items you plan on using in the display.
- Make sure you send your application in by the first of July because there is a late fee after this date. You don't have to have the piece completed by that time.
- If you would like your piece to be sold by State Fair personnel you must put the amount you would like the piece to be sold for on the State Fair application. This money will be collected and sent to you after the Fair closes. Remember the State Fair does keep a commission for handling this transaction for you. Volunteers working at the Fair can not sell these pieces for you.
