The Imperial crown of Russia stretched through time spanning over 1000 years. The Imperial House of Romanov ruled " Mother Russia " for over 300 years, since the first Romanov Czar, Prince Micheal, was crowned in 1613. Among the Czars that were noteworthy rulers, were Peter The Great, Ivan The Terrible and Catherine The Great.
The Czars ruled Russia entirely, with an Autocracy, and a firm hold on all levels of politics. Eventually Russia adopted a puppet legislative assembly known as the Duma. Delagates of the Duma held no real power, and were merely advisors to the ruling Czar. They advised the Czar on all levels concerning the very fabric and structure of Russia. The Czar held firm his hold and his rule over the very structure of Russia as a nation.
The oppulence of Russia far exceeded every royal house across Europe. The House of Romanov was wealthy and extravagant in nature. The royal palaces built by the Czars had reached to seven grand Imperial Palaces, from the Alexander palace to the Crimean palaces designed as vacation get-aways.
Perhaps the most famous and grandest of these mammoth structures was the Winter Palace now known today as " L'Ermitage ". This former royal structure was at one time the home of the ruling Czars and today is now the State Museum for Russia, housing important art, history, and artifacts associated with Russia. Although a museum , there are various parts of the L'Ermitage, that have been completely refitted, and transformed into the abode of Czarist Russia. These rooms have been transformed into rooms that once housed the furniture of Czars.
The Russian government using pictures from the Russian Archives sought out the various pieces of furniture in storage and those pieces that were used in various government buildings such as the Kremlin. The furniture, the household articles, the various art pieces, and the artifacts of Imperial splendor were once again put in place within a former home of the Czars. To this day millions of people from around the World are travelling to St. Petersburg to visit the mueseum and to view the majesty that once was an " Imperial Dynasty ".
Please note that this will in time be edited to fully explain the wealth and to describe the oppulence of Imperial Russia. For instance the Russian State Diamond Fund, the Royal Yacht Standart, and the magnificence of the palaces will in time be detailed to give you a sense of the majesty and glory of an Imperial Dynasty.
