Cuckoo Fayre 2004

The gods were not smiling on us this year, after a nice morning with all the stalls set-up and the crowds arriving, the heavens opened and from 1 till 4pm it rained and rained and rained. Surprising numbers of visitors stuck it out for a while and the kids entertainment tent was popular, not just because of the respite it offered from the deluge, but for the most part it was a disappointing afternoon for those who'd done so much work in preparation. Many thanks to those who did make the effort to turn out especially the Mayor, Lesley Seabrook who was soaked in her robes, the hardy young footballers of the Cosmos who played on regardless and Gemma who was determined to win all the bottles on the ISOC spirit raffle, I hope she didn't drink them all at once. Hopefully we'll have sunshine again for the next 10 years.
