"NAMASTE"

At the bottom is a post from a dear friend and Sister.
A post that I feel fitting for many to read. Raven is a 50+ year old that still tells her stories in the the old ways and tongues at many pow-wow's if she is able to attend. Very strait forward, a no nonesence Medicine Woman with the Heart of the ancesters that has bonded to become a backbone of many Nations.
(Just a few of my personal thoughts)
And for some reason i felt this would be good here, to feel the love and the anger
From one that hasn't had an easy time. Her health is always a factor, yet if the pain not so bad...she will take a bus 1000 miles to speak at a pow-wow to help others to understand.

Several people have mentioned the following as a song that Paul Revere and the Raiders did as Cherokee Nation.
Interesting since Mark Lindsey was indeed part Cherokee...
More interesting because of their costuming...Raiders...as in British...as in why the Pilgrims came here to begin with...
as in Pilgrims who had NO clue what to eat, what to plant, how to construct a long house and have it be waterproof and stay warm, how to tan hides, etc. till they were met and befriended by Squanto (Wampanog Indian) and his Vilage. And, when fall crops were in, there most likely was an end of Harvest meal...which is STILL what its called in this house, because, the following mid spring, several of those very same Pilgrims made a pre-dawn visit to Squanto and his small village, a short distance away and SLAUGHTERED even man, woman and child as they slept .

Anyways...Off My Soapbox...These are the original words

The Lament of the Sioux Reservation Indian

They took the whole Sioux Nation
And put us on this reservation
They took away our way of life
The tomahawk, and the bow and knife

They put our pappoose in a crib
And took the buckskin from our rib
They took away our native tongue
And talk their English to our young

The old teepee we all love so
They're using now just for a show
And all our beads we made by hand
And nowadays are made in Japan

Altho they've changed our ways of old
They'll never change our hearts and souls
Though I wear a man's shirt and tie
I'm still a redman deep inside.
