IHANA Membership

As implied by its name, IHANA is focused on providing resources to people who keep hamsters in North America.  Anyone, however, is welcome to join.

1.  Read the Code of Care.

2.  Read the Breeders Code (even if you are not currently a breeder and have no plans to be).

3.  Read the British Hamster Association (BHA) or the National Hamster Council (NHC) Exhibition Standards.  (Note:  the NHC Standards are organized by species in the 'Hamster Information' section.)  It is not necessary to memorize the details of each color, pattern or coat type.  What is important is to have a good idea of the concepts contained in the document so that you can easily use it as a reference.

As a member of IHANA, you are pledging to uphold the Code of Care and the Breeders Code, and to use the BHA or NHC Standards whenever possible in selecting and evaluating your hamsters.  If you are interested in belonging to a group where all members share these values, join IHANA by joining this MSN group (click "Join Now" on the left bar).  If not, please feel free to visit as a guest.
