There could be one several things that’s kept you from getting approved.
1. You neglected to tell us why you wanted to join outside of , "I’m interracially oriented." "A friend referred me to your group." or my personal favorite: "I’m interested in meeting people that have the same interests as myself." We ask each applicant for three things: Information regarding why they want to join, to tell us about their favorite books, and to use an email address that we can contact them at if we have any questions. The above answers might be the reason each applicant wants to join, but they are also quick thoughtless answers that ring of "spam."
2. You simply applied and didn’t give a reason why. You said NOTHING. If you can send out a membership request that’s silent, there’s a good chance that you will be a silent lurking member here too. While large numbers are great for membership rolls, large numbers of ACTIVE members are better. We want members to interact with each other. Voice their opinions and have a great time while doing it. Lurkers do just that, LURK. They do not participate which makes for a boring group, which is the very last thing we are.
3. Your email address or Online ID leads us to believe that your interest in this group is for purposes other than legitimately communicating with other readers of Multicultural and Interracial literature.
4. Your email inbox settings is sending everything we send you for pre-approval to the junkmail box and deleting it. We need to hear back from you before we approve your membership.
Now you're wondering, "What's the deal?"
But instead of an approval announcement, you open your email and you find an email from an IMRR staff member asking for clarification regarding your application. What should you do next?
Answer it.
Fact is, with an ever growing group of active members our time is limited...and so is yours.
If we are riding the fence regarding your application and we are asking you for clarification on something via email, reply immediately. You have 72 hours in which to reply before your application is flat out denied.
