Annette Johnson lives in Marion, Ohio. and travels all over the United States singing her praises to God. And why not. Annette is a walking miracle.
Let us start at the beginning. Annette came from a Christian home; her Dad was a Minister.
At the early age of two Annette would not accept affection from her mother or any one. As Annette stated she was a “mean preachers kid.” As Annette grew older she grew worse.
Annette would sneak out of the house at night to go partying with her friends. Smoking Pot stealing, doing drugs and Drinking.
By the age of 16 Annette thought enough was enough of people trying to tell her what she could do and not do.
So at a age of sixteen Annette left home, as so many young people do, thinking she could make a better life on her own. Annette wound up living on the slum streets of Chicago. Annette spent three years on the street partying, doing drugs, alcohol, stealing and men. When you get hooked on alcohol and drugs, you will do any thing to get them.
Annette had not had contact with her family in all this time. And her so called friends she was partying with had deserted her. Annette had no one.
One day Annette was in an alley and noticed a station wagon coming up the alley. As the wagon got closer she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her, as they often do when you are on drugs and alcohol. It was her Dad, he rolled down the window and said. “I’ve been looking and praying for you“. Annette was scared of what her Dad would say to her. But he said “I Love you and so does Jesus“. Annette and her Dad had a long talk.
Annette did not go home but got a job in a Christian owned restaurant. Working in this Christian Restaurant was a blessing to Annette.
The people would council and have Bible study with Annette. You see Annette was still drinking. Annette did a lot of praying before she could quit drinking. Annette had to get her head and heart together and that took Gods help.
Annette said God had never quit dealing with her heart through the years.
A quote from Annette.
“God has allowed me to be a servant to Him and sing His praises. Telling all who will listen. It’s so great to be serving a Miracle working God. Through twenty one cancer-related surgeries, I have found Gods World to be true. He always goes ahead to prepare a way for us. He has never left me alone, even in the darkest hours. When you see me you will see I use a cane, the reason being, my bones are easily broken. I nearly lost the use of my right arm due to cancer surgery in December of 1998 which would have left me in a wheelchair. I’m not complaining, just explaining. God is so Great! He knows my heart and my heart wanted to praise the Lord with both arms lifted up to Him. Through faith in God and hard work, I now can lift His praises not only in voice, but with all I have to offer Him.
In March 1999, God not only healed my arm but He has also healed my stomach. I was starving to death and went down to “79” pounds. I have recently gained “20” pounds. Praise God!
Also in March I was diagnosed with four spots on my liver. The doctor did minor surgery to ease the pain in my rib. During the process they punctured my lung causing it to collapse twice. The doctor told me that I would die if I would try to sing again. I walked out of his office with greater determination to sing for God’s praises and to testify of His goodness. God has opened many doors.
“I hope some day to meet you face to face on earth or in heaven, so we can talk and sing the praises forever and ever“.
I’ve sang with Annette on several TV shows, and sang in Church services with her. What a joy to hear her testimony and hear her sing.
Whatever you are going through, God is waiting to help you. Ask God into your heart. He is the great Physician.
Until next time, stay in God's care
