I just finished Sammy Hall’s Book “Whatever It Takes”, what a Life story. I highly recommend all read this book. While speaking to Rhonnie Schuerman Song Writer, Promoter and columnist. Rhonnie said after reading the book, brought up in Florida, she could relate to many of the places Sammy spoke of“. Rhonnie highly recommends this book to all ages and stated that Sammy is a very talented man.
Sammy Hall lives in Sevier County Tennessee. Sammy started in the music business when he was a young teenager. Sammy was on his way to stardom in Rock And Roll Music, and was into drugs, alcohol and sex.
Celebrated on American Bandstand and in the pages of Billboard Magazine, Sammy Hall was said to be following in the footsteps of Elvis Presley and the Beatles. Then suddenly he turned his back on it all to begin a new life.

If you have not read this book of Sammy’s life, it’s a must. This book tells of a young Rock singer living in Florida, on his way to Rock and Roll stardom and fame.
I’m Going to insert a couple paragraphs from the book at this time to give you a feel of it.
Sammy could feel himself losing touch with reality. He needed to talk to someone, anyone at all. Pulling into a gas station down the road, he approached the attendant. But when Sammy started talking to him the man acted as if Sammy was going to kill him. “What’s wrong with you mister? Get away from me!” he said while backing into a gas pump and then sprinting to the office and locking himself inside. Sammy hopped back into his car and with a deep breath started back down the road.
But this time he could sense he wasn’t alone. Voices, growling voices, were screaming and yelling his name. “Sammy, Sammy, Sammy,” the voices echoed louder and more intense and before he knew it demons were swarming all over him, their slimy hands smearing sweat across his body, sinking piercing fingernails into his skin, clawing at his face and mingling through his hair. A figure of Satan began to materialize in the seat right next to him, startling Sammy so that for a brief second his hands left the wheel. At first, two stunned to speak, he forced out a cry for help. “Help me, please somebody help me! I can’t take it!” He began to scream like a baby, making no words, just terrified sounds.
The satanic figure sat there without saying a word. He was everything that was ugly and fearful. His mere presence brought a sense of death. It was as if the Devil had come to collect Sammy’s soul, and he was about to get it.
High on drugs and ready to end it all the Holly Spirit took control of Sammy. Sammy’s life was changed that night. Now Sammy and his son Monte sings for our Lord and Savior, with a new sound in Gospel Music.
How does one describe the musical sound and style that is being called powergrass? It is a very different sound in today's Christian Country market. It could be described as a comfortable mixture of strings, mandolins, close harmonies and a little bit of rock and roll. Another definition of Powergrass can be found in the musical style of a group, introduced to us by Reformation Records, SAMSON, a new father/son duo who are developing the new sound and style.
SAMSON was formed in the summer of 1997. Made up of Sammy Hall and his son Monte, this new act is a mixing of high energy stage show with a pleasing blend of their own brand of country.
Sammy Hall began his professional career in rock & roll at the age of 16. He was part of several top R&R groups. At the time, Billboard magazine declared, "he was an artist to watch." He also appeared in the movie "The Wild Rebels" & on the Dick Clark shows "American Bandstand" and "Where The Action Is." Hall went solo years later and for many years he performed gospel music in churches, schools, and auditoriums all across the United States.
For the last few years Sammy and his sons Brannon and Monte have found themselves performing all over the world as "Horizon". Their positive approach and motivational music has opened doors for them to perform for hundreds of thousands at success-oriented rallies, which they continue to do today. The demand for their music has taken them to Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, and all over the United States.
Sammy has now teamed up with his son, Monte to embark on a new venture. Together they have developed the new sound and energetic style that defines the artist called SAMSON.

Reformation Records describes them as Powergrass performed by SAMMY AND MONTE HALL.
By the time you are reading this story, I would have interviewed Sammy and his new Album on my Radio Show. I have met and talked with Sammy, and he is a great man. I’m looking forward to doing more with Sammy.
