To MY Poetry
Thank God Today
When I was young we were very poor.
The holes in the wall and in the floor.
We never seemed to have enough to eat.
Hand me down clothes, no shoes on our feet.
Cornbread and beans is what we lived on.
Public housing is where we made our home.
Dad had passed on and Mom was alone.
Now the years have gone,
I have a comfortable home.
I have clothes, shoes on my feet
and I have plenty to eat.
So I thank God today
as I kneel and pray.
For being there to see me through
in all I say and do.

The Angel
What color is an angel? What do you see?
Are we not all the same? No color nor creed?
Instead of our eyes we should look with our hearts.
We all were the same from the very start.
When we are in Heaven no colors there.
We’ll be all the same, no eyes will compare.
Our brothers and sisters will all be the same.
There will be no calling of cynical names.
The day is coming, we’ll join hand in hand.
When we reach heaven all will be grand.
All there will be loved and treated as one.
No color we’ll see, And all will have won.

The Blessings
<DIR> <DIR> The Blessings of our Savior
Are they not great?
The blessings of our Holy Spirit
Thank God he’s never late.
The Power we’ve been given.
The peace within our hearts.
Yes, my Jesus is always with us,
In Him we should always trust.

The Closing Days
The end is nearing, our time is running out.
To bring to Christ the lost I have no doubt.
The signs of the times in heaven and earth,
let’s glorify Christ and give him his worth.
He went to prepare with our Father above
A place of peace, hope and brotherly love.
Now the time is growing near for him to appear.
All should be ready, it could be this coming year.
Just be a soldier in the army of our King.
To Him the lost and weary we must bring.
This battle we fight against the fire of Hell.
The battle we will win. With God all is well.

</DIR></DIR> The End
Please don't shed your tears for me
for I am now where I want to be.
I am with Jesus in my home above.
Because for me he shed his blood.
The work I did on this earth
Is not enough for his worth.
But everything we do
in Christs name be true.
Christs path we must take
And never stray or be fake.
On Christ we can depend.
Yes! Even to the end.
