As the water flows swiftly to the sea,
What mysteries and beauty it must see
It passes under a mighty bridge up high
A beauty standing. A secret she hides.
It could be a lover of days long long ago
Or something inside giving her growth
The mighty river travels on to the sea
Passing a fisherman could it be me!
Down, Down, Down the lure disappears
The fight begins, to the surface it appears
A mighty fish, my, my what a catch to see
Off to the skillet for you, I wish it were me.
As the river rolls on getting closer to the sea
It passes a dock, children playing for free.
Mom preparing a feast as dad lounges close by
All waiting with anticipation, can’t wait to try
Fried Chicken, Baked Beans, Potato Salad too
Cole Slaw, Pie’s and Banana Pudding for you
Oh what a great feast, a day all will remember
Fall is on it‘s way; It’s soon to be September
Rolling along passing big cities, valleys, towns,
Mountains, pastures of green, seaward bound
Beauty and grace sent from above to be found
God gave to all, and love plenty to go around
Oh what a change as It rolls into the big sea
Traveling far, It is where it was meant to be
The change in scenery, what beauty and grace
Plants floating on bottom, some look like lace
Fish of all sizes, colors, shapes and rare forms
Gliding along freely, some hatched , some born
All the rock formations; what a sight to see
God placed a city for his creatures, under the sea
Now big ships he carries from port to port
Some filled with cargo, some passengers aboard
Oh that journey, as remembers of days of old
The swift current, rocks, logs, a big water fall
A dams holding me back, what a big wall
Now I am much bigger, But it was a long hall
