Custom Steelhead "Hot Butt" Leader and Indicator Kit

     This 10 foot, knotted leader is ideal for "high-stick" nymphing whether bottom-bouncing or using the right-angle-floating-indicator-technique. The design of this leader is identical to the leader formula found in John Nagy's new book, Steelhead Guide Fly Fishing Techniques and Strategies for Lake Erie Steelhead (revised and expanded 3rd edition).

     The "hot butt" section of the leader is constructed of fluorescent orange Sunset amnesia which acts as a strike indicator when bottom-bouncing. The leader mid-section is made of a hard nylon (Maxima Chamelon) which is ideal for turning over weighted flies, split-shot, indicators, etc. The leader is finished off with a 36 inch section of 3X  Frog Hair fluorocarbon tippet material. This material is very strong versus diameter and is also very limp (yet abrasion resistant) which is ideal for delicate, drag-free drifts.
