INVESTIGATION REPORT
Friday 2nd July 2004
Beechen Bank Woods, Lords Wood, Nr Chatham, Kent.
Team : Debs, DaveE, Alan (medium), Chris, Kim.
Plus : DaveP local resident.
Core team met at local pub from 8.30pm, Investigation commenced 10.30pm.
Weather prior to investigation : Rain/stormy, unsettled. Weather during investigation : Remained dry, some breeze.
We made our way into the woods, not far in a temperature change was noted - the whole team felt warmer plus a mist seemed to form in front of us. Pictures taken.
It was noted that Chris's camera was malfunctioning and Kim's camcorder was switching itself off with a message 'Memory Stick Full' when the memory stick was not being used. We chose the right-hand footpath, Alan begins to feel tight-chested as if he'd been long-distance running, feeling nauseous through exhaustion. A feeling of someone running cross country, possibly wartime. An image of a young man, name of Joseph, taking a short cut while out running. He suffered an asthma attack and didn't make it through the woods. The team were standing near a broken tree and this may have been the site. Year 1947/1948. Pictures taken.
While walking back up towards the main pathway Alan sees in his minds eye an image of one of the larger trees having a huge cross nailed to it. For what purpose we are unsure, however a feeling of 'not going past' this tree was felt and a feeling of some nasty occurences. Some sick and evil deeds were attributed.
Alan's torch beginning to fail; Chris's camera batteries failed - both unconfirmed batteries fully charged. Alan's camera auto-flash facility malfunctioning; camera fully charged.
Orb spotted by DaveP about 2ft from the ground while Debs sees small flashing light at random amongst the trees. Video footage of moving light. 8mins into Chris's tape; Kim filming also. No insects apparant, no light source from team just infrared from cam.
Team continue further down path, Debs feels uneasy when previously fine, DaveP feels colder and Chris experiences goosebumps. Kim begins to feel tight-chested and is visably out of breath, experiencing back pain also. Kim felt she'd run a marathon. DaveE mentions a sore throat that wasn't there earlier.
Alan feels apprehensive at girls moving further down into copse area, says some nasty occurences happened there.
Light spotted by Chris, witnessed by team, could be street lights from below yet cannot confirm either way; woods too dense. Second light seen by Debs, more hazy and blue/grey in colour; different direction than previous light, no cause found.
Team take top footpath and turn left this time. Debs experiences chills down her spine while Kim comments on feeling hot. Alan encounters new energy, much more negative. Feels this energy responsible for sacrifices and torture - luring young women into the woods to rape and harm. Name of David and an image of a man dressed in a black cloak complete with hood, feelings of devil worship, pain of victims felt by Alan. Pictures taken, team move swiftly on.
Walking back up to main path, Kim experiences sore throat and a tingling sensation across her shoulders. DaveE's sore throat not so apparant. We find ourselves in a small clearing, icy cold chills felt by whole team - possible the wind through the trees however chills continued further into the wood. We remained at this clearing and the energies of 2 young children were felt by Alan. A brother and sister of primary school age playing happily. Names of Edward and Trish Taylor were given and the year 1920 or 1925. Debs hears sounds of snapping twigs much like when someone is walking in wooded area, team accounted for and motionless at this point. The children told their stories of watching the dogs in the woods, their toys and how they played. They made reference to the 'Black' man and how they steer clear, they say he wants to 'cut' them so they stay at the top end of the woods to play. Debs suddenly feels overwhelming sadness and feels close to tears - no reason apparant. Children's grandmother used to live nearby.
A feeling by Alan that this 'dark' energy hates women yet is wary of men. He wants to harm women. DaveP relayed a story from around 15yrs ago when local children spoke of a man wearing a black hood was following them. Research being undertaken. Alan has the impression that the reputed 'Black Cat' and this 'Black Hooded' man could be one of the same energy. Team couldnt venture further, Devil's Hill far too dangerous.
Investigation Ends 12.30am
The team re-grouped and made their way to private residence. Small investigation took place as owner expressed a reason to believe they had spirit guests, sounds of someone using the stairs had been experienced, plus the lady of the house spoke of a dislike of the bay-window area and a general 'coldness' in that room. Pictures taken. Dowsing rods, EMF reader and camera all showed activity simultaneously. Rods following house-owners around the downstairs rooms.
Alan felt energy of an elderly lady, in a dress, cardigan and slippers. She preferred the armchair as it gave her a commanding position. Alan asked the owners if they'd experienced any objects moving, they said that their mail was often moved. Alan relayed, in a rather abrupt manner, "Well, He reads Mine"!! The gentleman owner advised that a letter had arrived for a previous owner some 17years after she moved and he had read it! Alan re-iterated the commanding position stance and Debs joked that she sounded like a teacher. The owners advised that this previous owner had in fact been a teacher. Details of the energy in the bay-window area were not confirmed. No further information was found, full investigation offered to house-owners.
Investigation ended approx. 1.45am
