Guidelines for Kent Paranormal Group Members
In view of recent requests, these guidelines cover the basic criteria of the group, it's investigations and social events.
These guidelines will be reviewed each quarter and amended as necessary.
The group itself :
i) All members are encouraged to take an active role within the group. Be it via the message boards, chat room, articles, investigations (see below) or social events. The member list will be reviewed quarterly, members who have not contributed during that time will have their memberships cancelled.
ii) As we have always been a community social group, on and offline, we expect full backing and support for the group and it's activities.
iii) KPG is, and will continue to be, a non-profit making group. Therefore we tend not to charge nor pay for events.(Certain circumstances may incur some cash expense and will be detailed beforehand).
iv) We require full msn profiles, and would encourage members to NOT show their e-mail addresses to prevent potential virus and/or hacker attempts.
v) KPG takes the subject of the paranormal very seriously but other subjects are also discussed in the chatroom and on the message boards. We will not condone negative postings on the message boards, therefore all posts will be moderated.
Investigations: All investigations are carried out predominantly by the group's 'core' team plus invited member guests, detailed below. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
Indoor venues : As most indoor venues carry strict number restrictions we are often limited to the core team plus up to four invited member guests. These guests will be picked at random, at the management's discretion, from those that have previously shown an interest. Details of these investigations will NOT be available on the message board for the following reasons; we cannot risk the possibility of others attending the venue expecting a place when numbers are full; we cannot vouch for the intentions of members we haven't yet met.
Outdoor venues : When investigating outdoor sites, numbers are not such an issue so many more guests will be able to join us. These investigations will be announced on the main board.
It would be preferable, yet not always possible, to meet with prospective guest volunteers prior to an investigation. At the least, we would require full msn profiles on the site, e-mail contact and other participation such as message board postings, chat room appearances, social meet ups etc.
We will also be asking each member guest to sign a disclaimer before they join us on an investigation. This is to ensure that any breakages/loss/damage to equipment or personal injury is not KPG's responsibility.
Social Events : From time to time KPG will arrange social meet up events. We believe these to be extremely important for building and re-affirming friendships and equally as an opportunity for others to meet the team. Should you wish to be considered to join us on an investigation, these informal meets would give you an ideal chance to put yourself forward. Social events will be posted on the General message board.
Due to health and safety issues, we try to discourage individual members from organising open events. We cannot vouch for who might attend and the group's reputation could be in question.
These guidelines are designed to answer many questions on the workings and activities of our group. Other questions may be answered on the FAQ page, failing that please e-mail the managers directly : kpgmanagers@blueyonder.co.uk
