Male or female?
So many people have difficulty sexing chinchillas. This I find really easy.
In the pictures below you can easily see the space between cone and anal opening
is vastly different. The space in a male is longer. The distance less in a female.
If you cannot hold your chinchilla very well to sex them. Wrap in a towel to keep legs
and feet tucked out of the way. You will then I am sure find it easier.
This is the female. Note how little distance there is between.
Male chinchilla. Note there is much more distance between this time.
As you will now see it is so easy when you know how. Owners of male chinchillas should always check periodically for fur rings. A great tutorial on how to do this may be found
