Welcome to the village of Kings Clipstone. Our community website is the place to find everything about this historic village in the heart of ancient Sherwood Forest - from the earliest times to modern-day shopping, leisure and tourist facilities.

We hope you'll support the community's campaign to highlight the increasing and life-threatening dangers that children, walkers, cyclists and horse-riders in the village of Kings Clipstone are being exposed to from traffic passing through on its way to and from Mansfield and Ollerton, Retford, the A1, Doncaster and the North.

Nottinghamshire County Council have how agreed to trial a new pathway and traffic calming scheme that should ease the situation. But we don't have a start date yet and these dangers were first highlighted in the Nottinghamshire County Council's Development Plan of 1952 that records proposals for "a by-pass ... to the south side of the old village".

Since then, traffic density has increased many-fold, vehicles have become faster, longer and wider.

Now we are delighted to hear that promises will become action on 9th June!

Action now may save a life; inaction waiting for a fatal accident
statistic from Kings Clipstone is simply not acceptable.
