THE CLUB AND RESCUE

The club was started as a fun meeting place for all retriever lovers in Utah.  With great members, trainers, and ethical breeders, this site is a great resource for any owner.  All retriever breed owners and their dogs are welcome here!

The rescue was started in the fall of 2002, and has since rescued over 2,500 dogs from the local high kill shelters - all ran from foster homes in Ut. and SL County.  Because Labradors are so popular, they are the #1 bred and #1 killed breed.  Unfortunately, most Labs end up in the shelter by age 2 where their lives are ended due to lack of space/homes.  To help save these Labs, the rescue strives to promote spaying/neutering, and adopting an adult Lab versus buying a puppy if the home is not ready for that commitment.  Many gorgeous purebred Labs are available at all times through the rescue and shelters across the State.  Please consider adoption, you will save a life!

NEW AS OF 2007/2008!!!

RESCUE/ADOPTION FACILITY:

We are currently looking for individuals/groups that may be able to assist us with the following:  501(c)3 filing, fundraisers/donation drives, volunteer coordinater, foster homes, and individuals/companies able to locate and/or help us purchase land and a building for our future Rescue and Adoption Facility.  We are desperately trying to grow and expand the Organization, but we can't do it alone.  If you can help us in any of the above ways, or in one not listed, please call us at (801)426-5414.  Thank you so much for your help and support!

"No Lab Left Behind"
This is a program set up in honor of Peykos, aimed at rescuing and rehoming senior Labradors from our City shelters.  This is a new program just starting up and is in need of donations to help support those senior Labbies we rescue or would like to rescue.  Please click the link on the left of the page to learn more.

Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and desperately needed at this time
Many puppies are treated for Parvo and almost every adult rescued is treated for kennel cough.  The rescue has also taken in many injured adults and special cases, and the rescue funds are completely drained.  We are now asking for help from the public.  If you can donate, please use our PayPal button at
www.utahlabrescue.com/donate.htm  ,
or send a donation to our participating Veterinarian:

Please make contributions 'in honor of the Utah Lab Rescue', thanks!

We are also needing dog supplies: food, crates, collars/leashes, dishes, towels/blankets, toys, etc.  A fundraiser yardsale is being setup for the rescue; if you would like to donate any items, please call the rescue (801)426-5414 for pick-up, or feel free to drop-off items at either of the Vet's listed above.  Thank you!

BREEDERS

This group promotes ethical, reputable breeders.  You can see a list of them on our Breeder Registry page.  To know what a ethical breeder is, please read the list of items breeders must abide by on our Breeder Code of Ethics page.  If you are a breeder, follow those guidelines, and would love to be added to the Registry, please contact Travis off of the Breeder Registry page.  If you do not follow those guidelines, we will not add you, and you should not be breeding.  Breed for the betterment or not at all.  If you are an owner looking for a puppy, use the list from the Code of Ethics as a guideline of questions to ask breeders.

KURANDA DOG BEDS

The Kuranda Dog Beds are great at making a dogs stay at a kennel that much easier and comfortable.  If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a rescued dog to sleep in comfort, please click the above picture.
Thank you!
