| There are currently over 3200 photographs posted on this site. These photos have been contributed to the Project and belong to the individual contributors and the Lafayette Cemetery Research Project, which has unlimited permission to use them for the benefit of the Project. All contributions are appreciated. The chief reason for documenting cemeteries is to ensure an accurate record for historical, educational and investigative purposes. The reason for creative photography is to enhance what has been called "the Human Condition", the interaction between people and their traditions, lifestyles, etc. All work is pertinent under these auspices. This is a continually growing site as was intended from the start. We appreciate FRIENDS adding photos of themselves. The Photographic documentation of Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 has been instrumental in setting research standards around the world. If you would like to post photos of your local cemeteries, or any you may have visited and have pix of, simply go to the PHOTO ALBUMS page or click here: CREATE A NEW ALBUM. Type an appropriate description (ie., "PHOTOS BY JENN", or "NEW ENGLAND CEMETERIES", etc.) This site is not limited to cemetery photos as Friends also post family photos, historical photos, creative photos, etc. This, and any other album you create, is YOURS, and you can set it so that only you and a site manager may make changes (the default setting is recommended). These are your photos which you are displaying so that others may enjoy and benefit from them. You may also add links to other sites if you wish. You will always be able to go back to that album and add captions, etc., carefully following the EDIT instructions above each photo. When you have reached your 3.0 mb storage limit and wish to add more photos, simply add a new member account under a new e-mail address and nickname. You will then have unlimited storage capacity. You will not have to delete previous member accounts. This site can handle .jpg, .bmp, or .gif photos. If you wish to exhibit hundreds of photos, you might want to keep the photo sizes to below 100 kb. But all photos are welcome and appreciated. For viewing Photos, choose the corresponding Album from the Menu. There is a page number indicator with a downward arrow to the left of center. Clicking on this indicator will allow all of the Photos in the Album to be viewed. Clicking (enlargening) the first photo in an album, then clicking "next" will accss the whole album without having to return to the thumbnails. If a photo with a peg and clock symbol appears, it just means that the thumbnail has not been completely loaded, but clicking on it will still allow visual contact with the full-sized photograph. As this site is constantly being upgraded, there may be times when all photos may not be available for viewing. But there will always be an album available to add photos. Thanks for your interest and participation. All Photos on this site are the property of the Lafayette Cemetery Research Project and the contributing photographers. Unauthorized use is a violation of law and violators will be subject to prosecution. To request the use of photos or any other material on this site, please leave a message on the MESSAGE BOARD (follow instructions on JOINING THIS SITE and SENDING MESSAGES) or contact the Directory following the instructions posted on the General Information page.
