Notes: Purchased new as the D&M's first diesel. This unit was overhauled in 1999 and put back into running condition, being leased to National Gypsum in Alabaster while their centercab was down for repairs. She remains at the LSRC (DM) roundhouse in Alpena in operable condion, used as a shop switcher and occasionally to switch cars if the 469 is being used elsewhere.  Number 646 is also leased by the LSRC to LaFarge Cement, National Gypsum, or other local quarries on-line if their respective plant switcher goes in for repair.  It is the only intact unit remaining in the original maroon and light gray D&M diesel scheme.

UPDATE: The 646 has been sold to Hudson Terminal Railway in Colorado.  She so far to this date (07/24/2007), she has made it to Bay City's north yard.

LSRC 646 is Bay City's north yard on 07-24-2007.   Taken by Patrick with permission of LSRC railway.
