Online Step-Workshop

Introduction
There's probably only one inappropriate way to work the steps: ALONE. We cannot overemphasize the importance of working the steps with a sponsor. In fact, in our fellowship, a sponsor is considered, first and foremost, a guide through the Twelve Steps. If you have not yet asked someone to sponsor you, please do so before beginning this Online Step-Workshop.
Merely reading all the available information about any of the Twelve Steps will never be sufficient to bring about a true change in our lives and freedom from our disease. It is our goal to make the steps part of who we are. To do that, we have to work them.
The exercises we have in the Online Step Workshop are found in "The Step Working Guides ©". They were meant to be used by NA members at any stage of recovery, whether it's our first time through the steps or we've been living with the steps as our guiding force for many years.
This Workshop is intentionally written to be relevant to newcomers and to help more experienced members develop a deeper understanding of the Twelve Steps. As NA grows in numbers, in diversity, and in strength and longevity of clean time, our experience strengths and hope grows much deeper and richer. Our collective experience in working the steps of Narcotics Anonymous ® is our most valuable tool in our recovery.
If you happen to join this workshop at later time, simply go to the posted exercises you would like to share on, and choose reply. Feel free to start the exercises at any place that you feel comfortable. Nevertheless, remember that the steps are in order for a reason.
The Step-exercises would be posted to all members who wish to participate in the Workshop. Please limit your sharing to your personal experience. It is an absolute necessity for all of us to have a safe place where we can share from the heart without the worrisome of being judged by others.
For the above reason, we ask you to limit your sharing to your personal experience and refrain from (cross-sharing) in this post. In plain English: We want your Experience Strengths and Hope, Not your Opinion, Bullshit and Dope.
Keep it Safe, and keep it Real & do not forget to call your sponsor.
I.L.S.
If you want what we have to offer, and are willing to make the effort to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps. These are the principles that made our recovery possible.
1. We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. We continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
