Welcome to Navy Blue

My life from joining the Royal Navy and the events that I want to share with anyone who logs on.I have done most things during my life and the message is that if you don't enjoy life to the full every day ,time never stands still.

Think someone else would enjoy seeing these photos? Just click on the "Invite Someone" or "Recommend to a friend" link and we'll send them an email inviting them to come.

The picture on the home page is of my two boats that I have as a hobby and pastime.

I believe that once you have made the sea your career and you have done a lot of travelling around the world on different vessels it is very hard to get away from it. My boats are I suppose a link to my past. The ex-Fishing Boat is the BRUCES she is a 1926 motor herring drifter that fished from the Scottish North Sea coast all of her working days. She is listed as a Historic Vessel of regional importance. She retired from fishing in 1981. The fish hold and crew space are now converted as a holiday home for myself and family. She needs a three man crew to man her when sailing.

The sailing yacht is called LAPWING and she is a Hurley 22 Bermuda rigged sloop.I sail her single handed and she is my getaway boat. My first yacht was smaller and we used her to trailer sail on canals and lochs in Scotland. LAPWING is too big for that but we hope to use her on the Forth and Clyde Canal when it re-opens in 2001 to visit the West coast.

The Photo Albums will eventually show more of my own boats as the site becomes enlarged ,my Navy content is first priority however.

Please enjoy and if possible contact me or add to the guest book .I have a lot of ROYAL NAVY  history information for anyone who want to enquire about ships history RN from 1900 onwards. This is another of my hobbies.!
