Welcome to Linda's PLD polycystic liver disease support group. Feel free to tell us how you are doing, anything you have found helpful, or any difficulties you might be experiencing. PLD is inherited either with kidney cysts or without. Medical treatments include: minimizing exposure to hormones, caffeine, and false estrogen. We are hopeful that the Octreotide Clinical trials will diminish liver cysts. This trial is recruiting participants. Surgical options include liver resection, liver transplant, and liver artery ablation. Pain is the most common symptom reported from extensive liver cysts. For unique cases with a few large cysts or with many exophytic liver cysts deroofing may prove helpful. 75% have this procedure repeated. This does provide a temporary debulking while one is awaiting a transplant or resection. Splanchnic denervaton is useful for chronic pain relief. Send an email or listen in to any of the discussions. We welcome each of you. |
