Lisa's mom, Wanda Lopes, celebrated her own birthday yesterday 2 days before her daughter's birthday. Wanda kindly invited me into her comfortable home to take photos of Lisa's personal items and the residence that Lisa called home before her tragic death in Honduras in 2002. I couldn't help but feel overwhelming sadness for Wanda as she reminisced about Lisa's childhood and showed me artwork that Lisa made in grade school. Her home is filled with artwork and gifts presented to her by fans of TLC. I got the sense that Wanda appreciates and loves TLC's fans because the fans are represented throughout the home. You can meet Wanda Lopes in person on Friday, May 27th at Justin's Restaurant where family and friends will gather to remember Lisa and celebrate her birthday.
