TO SAVE A GRAPHIC TO YOUR COMPUTER
  1. Right click on the graphic.
  2. A window will open and select "Save Picture As" and click.
  3. Then another window will open and you can decide where on your computer you want to store the gif (just remember where you save it).
  4. I usually use "My Pictures" which is a file in "My Documents" on your C-Drive.
  5. Because of some transparency backgrounds...make sure you save these as a "gif" file. Then click "Save".
  6. Your gif is now saved to your computer.

ADDING TO YOUR ONLINE PHOTO ALBUM (on our site) **OPTIONAL**

  1. First you must set you up a personal photo album on the site.
  2. Click on the "Pictures" Link which is located on the left side of your screen on the Nav Bar.
  3. Once you are there click on "Create a New Album"
  4. A window will come up and you will name your album. Description is optional. You may also select who may or may not add or delete photos from your album. Management always has this authority to add or remove any content.
  5. Then click on "Create Album"
  6. Now click on "Add Photos"
  7. The first time you will be prompted to install MSN Photo Control.
  8. Click on "Install"
  9. Once installed, a window will open showing your computer's files on the left hand side. Find the directory and folder you saved your gif or picture in. Click on that folder/file and on the right side of the screen you will see your pictures appear.
  10. Find your gif or picture... right click once to highlight (select) it. Then scroll up to the top of the list and click on "Upload".
  11. Give it a few minutes to download and waa-laa....your gif is now in your photo album on the site. You can always access it by going back to the "Pictures" link in the navigation link section (left of screen) of the site.

PLACING IMAGES (gifs, jpgs) IN YOUR POST

  1. Place your mouse cursor on the place you wish the image to appear in the post.
  2. Click on the the box underneath "Font Size" on the toolbar above the message box.... that looks like this....
  3. Another window will appear. This window will have tabs at the top "My Online Photos", "My Computer" and "Clipart Gallery".
  4. Select the "Online Photos" if you are using a gif from yours  or the site's photo albums. NOTE: (If using a gif saved on your computer which is not in a site album see My Computer below these instructions)
  5. To the left side column of the window will appear our group name. Click on the "Living With PTSD" group name and a list will come up with all picture albums on this site.
  6. Chose what album your image is in and click on that album name. You will notice it loading images on the right side column of the window.
  7. Select the image you want by "left-clicking" your mouse on the image.
  8. Then click "Add Photos" at the top.
  9. The window will then close and your image will appear in your post.
  10. You may have to give it a few seconds to upload. At this point you can resize it or even move the image within the post.

To resize your image or gif..........

You do this by placing your mouse on one of the little blank squares around the image. When a double ended arrow appears, hold down the mouse button and drag in whatever direction you want. To the center will decrease the size...away from the center will increase the size. The center squares will either make the image taller...shorter....thinner or wider. You will just have to work with it until you are familiar with how to resize.

"MY COMPUTER"

To save gifs ONLY on your computer, NOT on the site.

Follow instructions on Placing Images (above)  #1 through #3....then.....

4.   Click on "My Computer".
