Hey there! Our shoebox is full of these animated critters and things for fun. Don't be daunted! It is really pretty easy.....
To Add to a Post
1) Have your cursor on the place you wish the gif to appear in the post
2) Click on the the box underneath "font style" that looks like this...
Another window will appear.
3) On the left hand side, a list will appear. To use our gifs, click on Living with PTSD. Then a list of our photo albums will appear.
4) You can then click on little smileys, calling cards, hugs and hearts, flowers, etc. (Most of these categories are toward the bottom of the list.) A thumbnail pic of each in these albums will then appear in the right hand side.
5) Click on the one you want and it will be outlined in red.
6) Just click "Add Photos" on the top and the new window will disappear and the gif will appear in your post.
If you want to see how gifs will animate before you post them, you have to go the photo album and choose one of the thumbnail pics before it will animate.

Here is what works for me with Outlook Express. Not sure if this is true for all computers...
1) You can right click on most any gif and choose "Save picture as..." That should open a window for your computer's pictures. Choose save. (Note...don't save thumbnails or they will not animate. It has to be animating when you save it)
2) When you are typing your email, choose the insert option on the top.
3) Then choose the "browse" option in the new window. This will open a window to browse through your saved pictures.
4) Choose one and click on "Open" This window will disappear and the window you chose "browse" in will reappear.
5) Then choose "ok" and you are done. The gif should be in your email.
I am no expert, but I know this will not always work in some email. Sometimes they are filtered through some ISP's and will not appear when sent. Have heard this is because they can be mistaken for a possible virus, but they will work with most ISPs.
Hope you have as much fun with these as we do!
