18 Nov. 2002 - [The data on this page will be corrected, deleted or added to as we receive more conclusive information]

9 & 20 Dec. 2002 [updated]  2, 15, 24 Jan.2003[updated] 29 Jan.2003

George of Georgia had the following information from his cemetary searches; Leonard HUFF, Jr., b.ca. 1752, died 1810 - Peter HUFF, married to Mary Ann Toney, died 1820 - Samuel HUFF, Sr., b.ca. 1750, died in 1820 and was buried in Jackson Co.TN.

According to the 77 page document, entitled; "Descendants of Samuel Huff, Jr.", rec'd from Robert HUFF of Salem, IL, Samuel Huff, Jr. was the grandson of a Leonard HUFF.

The Marriages Bonds of Bedford Co. VA, 1755-1800, Gen.Pub.Co.1975 lists;            Samuel HUFF, Sr. [b.ca.1750] married to Sarah Hix in 1773.  Peter HUFF "surety"

According to our HUFF web master, (Max), there was a Leonard HUFF, b.ca.1721, which fits the Leonard HUFF, Sr. mentioned above.  Also, in the HUFF/HOFF Journal, (Editor:Max) there is reference to Hampshire Co.WVA Wills.  Will of Lawrence (Lorenz) HUFF dated 11 Nov.1778.

By refering to the 1764 & 1768 Land deeds of Bedford or Boutetourt co.VA, we can establish a brother relationship between Leonard and Lorenz (Lawrence) HUFF (See Leonard, Sr.web page, established 20 Dec.2002)

Early Records of Hampshire Co.WVA, Page 137, lists Leonard HUFF relative to;                   "Fairfax Lands Taken up" 1767-1768.

"The marriages of some residents of VA 1607-1800" gives info.on Lawrence HUFF, b.1725, [brother to Leonard, Sr.] (See Lord supplement, p.2 & Penn.Marriages)

From  "Will Book Vol.II of Augusta Co. VA" we learn that Lorenz (Lawrence) had three sons; Wilhelm (William), Franz (Francis) and Heinrich (Henry).

"Penn.German Pioneers" list Lorenz HOFF immigrating to the USA in 1730.  However, he appears to have made a 2nd trip in 1749.  France (Francis) HOFF, son of Lorenz (Lawrence), is listed as immigrating in 1751.

The Leonard HUFF, b.1720 in NJ pedigree has been submitted by several of you.  The most detailed version I have received yet, came from a HUFF Cousin in Norman, OK, which may have originated from another HUFF cousin in Harwood,TX.  I have written her a letter, and when I have had a chance to communicate with her, I will share her name on this page (subject to her approval, of course). [See Leonard HUFF Sr. web page]

There have also been two submissions to the Peter HUFF page.  I am in the process of trying to make contact with these two submitters. I will give more information on them, when I get it.
