4 Nov. 2002 - More about the "New Clue." -
Elizabeth's son, Samuel YOUNG was born 1787, in Virginia. Her brother, Samuel HUFF, was born about 1750 (we are not sure where). His son, Samuel HUFF, Jr. was born 1778 in Greenbrier Co.VA/WVA or in Wilkes Co., Georgia.

Since, after 30 years of research by competant family genealogists, no written record has been found for proof of siblings or parents of Elizabeth HUFF YOUNG, b.1754, we are left to base these relationships on circumstancial evidence. This evidence needs to relate to her 1754 birth in Frederick Co.,VA or Hampshire Co., WVA, her marriage to William YOUNG, 1770 and her death, 1819, in Jackson (Putnam) Co., TN.
15 Nov. 2002 -
Our newest clue is that a Peter HUFF is closely related to Samuel, Leonard and Elizabeth. Peter appears to have been born in Pennsylvania or Germany and may have lived for awhile near Frederick Co.VA/Hampshire Co.WVA or possibly in Augusta Co.VA. (See also "Liz' Siblings" & "Germany" link)
9 Dec. 2002 -
From Carol "HUFF's RUFF DRAFF," We deduce the following;
1) Leonard HUFF, b.1781, md."Nancy" 1799 in Jackson Co.TN.
2) Four of their children were; William, b.1800, Mary "Polly" b.?
James b. ? in Jackson Co. TN and Priscilla b. 1806
Carol's data really excites us HUFF/Young COUSINS, because we have been looking for a niece to our Elizabeth HUFF, named "Polly," for a long time. The reason for our excitement is that "Polly" HUFF married her first cousin, Jacob YOUNG after his divorce from his first wife. To think that this "Polly," daughter of Leonard HUFF, was living in Jackson Co. TN, enhances our excitement 4 fold, since that is where Jacob was supposed to have married "Polly." (If any of you find anything illogical in our calculating, please let us know).
