Subj:   Question about operative report

Dr. Eppley:

In reference to the following item from your operative report: "the area was defatted both above and below the platysma and the platysma was then plicated  with running 3-0 PDS suture."  ..A surgeon I recently consulted asked if the  defatting was done with a suction cannula or sharp dissection.  I told him I was not sure and would ask you.
Will you please answer  this question for me?
