Counselling
MLT does not do 'counselling' neither are we professional psychiatrists. We do believe in the power of prayer, however, and use (from time to time) the Theophostic method (www.theophostic.com) and have considerable experience in this kind of ministry. Fundamental to our ministry is the belief that everyone is responsible for their own choices and any behaviours that may result from them. This means that the burden of responsibility for change rests ultimately with the individual. Please see Articles 35-40 of our 40 Articles of Faith at:

MLT does not believe in 'exorcism' as commonly understood by those who believe in 'throwing out demons', and whilst we believe in the existence of Satan and of demons, we do not believe that the solution to oppression is to assault the client with loud and noisy bombastic prayer to 'cast demons out'. We believe that demonic oppression is caused by believing in lies and that all that is necessary for successful deliverance is to prayerfully ask Yahweh to reveal the truth about the false belief (this revelation is personally received by the client through the Ruach haQodesh, not by the minister, though the minister may receive confirmation), persuade the client to make a choice to renounce the false belief, and then quietly get the client to cast the oppressing demons out himself. In 99 out of 100 of cases this is a very gentle process, and most clients, while they commonly feel a reaction, do not (as depicted by the Hollywood movies) go foaming at the mouth or rolling around on the floor (we have never had anyone do that). The result is peace, joy, and abundance of love and an end to the lie-specific oppression.
All those coming to MLT for prayer and deliverance must, before we will agree to minister to them, take personal responsibility for their own choices - see http://www.nccg.org/disclaimer.html and http://groups.msn.com/MLTReceptionGroup/counselling2.msnw
