It's through the Families & Troop Committee and Council's participation and input from each, that we will succeed in our goals. Feed back and direct input from the above groups is a must to make our goals worth while. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Please join us and be part of our Troop and California Enland Empire Council and the Old Baldy District. Under the Meetings section of this Web Group you will find the different Troop Meeting, Committee Meeting and Round Tables, times and location. Please if you are interested take the time to visit a Meeting of your choice and decide for yourself if Troop 608 isn't your cup of Adventure. The calendar of Troop Events section will show the outdoor activities, trips or hikes we are planning and where to meet. In most cases we will caravan to where ever we are planning to go. Most hikes will be held on Sunday mornings and most of the activities will be over by 1:30 in the afternoon, unless they are a greater distance. All hikes are geared toward easy to moderate walking with little or no climbing. You will be given advance notice in your Troop meetings on what to bring or wear. The event can be pulled up and opened for the needed information. It's through the efforts of well trained and fun orientated leaders who will bring the World of Scouting to the Boys and our Community. It is National's directives and Council's wishes and my hopes that each leader have the basic training to fufill the needs and traditions of the Boy Scouts America.
