Make sure that you are signed in with
your MSN/Hotmail Net passport.

Click on the group (from the MSN directory),
or type in the link of the group that you wish to join.

When a group is set to "private",
you will have wait for the manager
to approve your membership.
*You will be notified by email, telling you
if your membership has been
approved or denied.*

*The above screen is what you will see first
for private groups.
Click on the "Apply To Join."
*You will then see a new screen,
asking for the following information:
*(1.) Enter the Nickname that you wish to go by.*
*(2.) This will be the email address
that you are signing up with.*
Do not check the box, allowing others
to see your email address.
*With spam and so many virus alerts,
it is recommended that you do not show
your email address in your profile.
*Check each groups "Terms of Use"
after you are approved to join,
to see how they feel about sharing
email addresses on the boards.*
*(3.) You should select "On the Web" for messages,
to keep from receiving all of the posts from
the group directly in your email inbox.
*You should also read each group's
"Terms of Use" after joining, to see if they
prefer members not to receive the messages
directly in their email box, and check for other rules
they might have about replying to posts via email.
*(4.) Add a message in the "Message to Manager" box.
*It doesn't have to be your life history *lol*, but tell
the manager how you found their site, why you would
like to join, and/or if the site was recommended by
someone that is a member of the group.*
*Most private sites deny blank applications.*
*(5.) Code of Conduct check "I accept."
Click on the "Code of Conduct" link to review MSN's rules.
*Also, please read the "Terms of Use" or Rules page,
for additional information and conditions set forth
by the manager after you have been approved.*
*(6.) When finished, click on the button "Join Now."
