Standard Tools - What does that Thingy do??

I.M.H.O. There are three Basic tools palettes you will want to have on screen.

Your STANDARD TOOLS

Your TOOLS

& Your MATERIALS (Called a Color Palette in PSP 7)

I can hear some of you already...

"Ummm ok, great now how do I get them on screen and what exactly are they anyway??"   Impatient lil' buggers aren't you?  *giggle*

Below I will show you a picture of EACH of the three along with a description of what each tool on the palettes are used for.

STANDARD TOOLS will look like this -

It is normally located at towards the TOP of your workspace. If it is not there, you can open it by going to View then Toolbars then Standard. (see pic below)

Now lets examine the individual functions on the Standard Palette. You may have a few more than just the icons I have listed but these are the MAIN one's you will probably use.

When you'd like to start on a "New Image" click on this.

Click on this one when you'd like to "Open" an image from a folder.

If you would like to view all the images located in a folder at one time click on this to "Browse".

This one will "Save" your image.  Smart people click this one a LOT while working on their pics!!  giggle

This one may look familiar it is what you'd click to "Print" your image.

If you made a mistake click this one to "Undo" (This one is my FAV!!)

Now you find that the mistake you just used your undo on, was actually suppose to be there. No worries click this to "Redo".

Decided you don't want the picture you just pasted onto your new image, click this one to "Cut" it out.  (Honestly I don't use that one often, as you can do the same thing simply using undo, or just start on a new image.)

Use this one if you'd like to "Copy" the image.

There you go, you now know each function normally needed and used in your Standard Toolbar Palette.
