http://home.comcast.net/~makinson. - Research by Lee Makinson of Alabama with the help of the Lancashire Family History Society in England added a large amount of information on the Makinson family from Blackburn, Lancashire Parrish, England, for additional information, see Lee Makinson’s Comcast Web site Cloyd “Doc” Makinson was contacted by Lee Makinson of Alabama n 1985 regarding what they both knew about the Makinson family history. Lee Makinson’s gr gr grandfather George Makinson was born 1802 in Blackburn, Lancashire Parrish, England and came to the country- in 1840 and settled in Linn Co., Missouri. George Makinson came with his brother Evan Makinson a minister. This sparked our interest to see if Lee’s Gr gr gr grandfather George Makinson and Cloyd’s Gr Gr grandfather Evan Makinson could be brothers. Since Cloyd’s ancestor and Lees’ ancestor’s brother Evan had different wives, there may have been two Evan Makinson Methodist ministers from England in the Midwest in the mid 1800’s. Signatures of each Evan Makinson were added to this web site under Documents: "four Evan Makinson signatures 1841 to 1851".Also see the source and description of the signature source under "signature comparisons". These signatures are simular and if confirmed they are signed by the same persons would confirm our familhy connection to Lee Makinson and the Makinsons from Blackburn England. If you are interested in comparing and helping ID the signatures of these men please check the document section of this site and email Warren at w_makinson@att.net
