Forum Discussion Rules
Always, always, before posting. Go to MameUI, select the help menu, select troubleshooting, read the topics. 99% of perceived MameUI issues are answered within it.
Only discussions of official MameUI are allowed. Do not post about or mention unofficial versions of either MameUI or Mame or MameUI's various knock-off derivatives. Use the mame.net forums for baseline Mame questions or core related feature requests.
Do not spam your site or your products.
Do not ROM beg/request, do not mention or link to illegal ROM sites, do not mention illegal ROM burners either.
Do not post about missing files.
Do not post about 'when will this game work'. DEV works at their own pace and time, usually there are difficult issues faced if a driver or game development has stalled.
Do not post about net play in Mame or Kaillera. It is not being added.
Do not ask when the next version is coming out. Usually if there are no changes to the core then it's just the amount of time it takes me to compile and put the distribution package together, usually an hour or two after the core releases. If there are significant changes to the core which prevent easy compiling then Rene, Mike Haaland, or Nathan Woods has to update our code to deal with the changes. That can take anywhere from a day to a week plus.
Don't whine about the removal of hiscore.dat support, use auto save states.
Do not post about combining zip or rar files to make .chds.
Use the most up to date version of MameUI. Do not post about older versions, older versions are not supported. I do not keep old versions or old source. A simple google on the file name can locate them elsewhere on the net.
Do not post about perceived FilePlanet problems, the builds are available on the free servers if you scroll to the bottom of the screen once you're logged in with your account. You need to create a free FilePlanet account, accessible in the upper left of the screen [members/login] when you click the download link. Answer no to the paid subscription when asked.
Branded controller files have been removed from the distribution, visit the controller makers site for the appropriate \ctrlr\*.cfg files. See the sample .cfg file in \ctrlr to make your own.
