MSN FAQ
If you'd like to share this information, give a link to this page: MSN FAQ, don't copy and paste from this group.
This page is going to go through the most often asked questions for fast easy access to some common help questions. We are going to include links to the discussions we have had on these questions. *If you have further questions after reading the discussions, feel free to reply to them with your question and we'll help you. We hope this helps you all. NEW!... 1) If my group is rated General, can I have Mature rated content/graphics? If my group is rated Mature, can I have Adult rated content or links? NO! Content cannot be above your group's rating. (General rated groups cannot have Mature or Adult content; Mature rated groups cannot have Adult content/links. More info below: **** EXCEPTIONS: See #10 below regarding PROMOTIONS of Mature Groups.
2) Why can't I get into chat? It tells me the server is experiencing problems. When you get the message that they are experiencing problems and to try again later You should be able to get in later. I get this some times. If it tells you your nickname is already in use sign out of all things MSN and try again.
3) Has it seemed like you have lost your group? Does it tell you Hmmm we cant find that page? This is a common occurrence. Please don't panic. This happens usually during an MSN update. Please check your group in a couple of hours to a couple of days it should be back by then. BUT if you still cannot access your group within a day, contact msn and let us know. If you get a message that says "This group has been disabled for Administrative purposes" that means your group was shuttered by MSN, so do contact them. Always have your group backed up in case it does vanish or get shuttered, so that you can rebuild.
4) Have your pages disappeared? Are you getting red X's on your custom pages?
This generally happens when MSN is doing an update. Please do not try to fix this while MSN is updating. You will loss th page totally. Usually the pages come back on their own when MSN is finished updating.
5) Have you tried to change your MSN nick name? Did it stay the same?
Some times it will change some times it won't. Try signing out of all things MSN and deleting your cookies and temp. Internet files. Then try signing back in. If this doesn't work then you may have to wait 24 hours. If that still doesn't work you can email MSN or you can get another passport.

6) Why are my stats stuck? How long will it take MSN to fix them?
The stats on the my groups page often get stuck. No one knows for sure how long they will be stuck. But i wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for them to work again. LOL.
7) Getting blank pages? getting the 'We cannot display this page' error?
This happens normally when MSN is updating. Try hitting refresh. Wait a few seconds before you hit the refresh button each time. 8) Having trouble posting? Getting blank pages in the post window? Try hitting F5. This will refresh the blank page. Also, Double Clicking every link within MSN groups, including the new message and reply links helps. 9) Having trouble getting into MSN groups? Getting the blank page when you try? Try refreshing. If this does not work wait a few hours and try again. 10) Can you promote Mature rated groups in general rated groups? Yes you can.

Email from MSN regarding this:
My name is Alwyn and I understand that you want to know if Mature and Adult groups may link or promote within General groups. Only Adult groups can promote adult groups. With this, all other general-rated and mature-rated groups can promote each other as long as they don't cross into the adult-rated ones.
If you have any other concerns, feel free to e-mail us back.
Sincerely,
Alwyn
