Creating a Signature Template

If you'd like to create a Signature File (or Post Template etc) to use over and over without having to retype it.  Here's how :)

Follow these instructions carefully. They might seem tricky but once you do it a few times you can make up little premade post templates/signatures in just a couple minutes for all kinds of uses...... you can make your signatures and posts really stand out by putting them inside a table with a border and maybe even a background, like this post/tut is in.

Go to the message board and click on New Discussion.
Type your Signature the way you want it with your own fonts, etc.
Remember the link must be a text link or in your siggy, no banners, promotional sayings, etc.
Don't forget the permission code ;)

Once you are happy with your Signature, click on the box next to
"Use HTML to create your page".
You'll see the html coding for your signature.

Open up Notepad (Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad)
Press the CTRL + V keys to paste it all into notepad.
Click on File > Save As

Now go to your Desktop.
There are two places you can place this file that will be quickly accessible for you:  the Quick Launch area (the area next to your Start button) or in your Start Menu.

Grab the File with your cursor and drag it on top of your Start button OR your between 2 icons in your Quick Launch area, and let go of the mouse button to drop it there.

Click on Start and you'll see MHM Signature near the top, or if you dragged it into Quick Launch it should show up there for you to open. Cool huh?

Now when you want to use it,  just type your message in MHM as you normally do,  then check the box next to "Use HTML to create your page"

Open up the MHMSignature file  (click on Start > MHMSignature)
In that file, Press CTRL + A, then CTRL + C

Go into your message again and put your cursor at the bottom of the html coding, after the last
tag.
Press CTRL + V
Now Uncheck the "Use HTML to create your page" box
Wala! There's your Signature at the bottom of your post!

Now this sounds like alot of work,  but after you use the signature a few times, you'll see that you can do it very quickly in just 3 quick steps and not have to retype it over and over.

You can make these for any type signature, like a welcome signature, goodbye message, good morning, use it for posts you use alot like group questions in which you use the same backgrounds etc...  for welcoming your own members to your group, whatever you want.  It saves alot of time not having to get the post background and signature etc in place before you can start typing your message..  have fun!!
