Andrew 'Andy' Darnall was the Chief of Police for many years.  He rode around in a pick up truck with a bunch of dogs in the back.  All of those dogs listened to Banks Cason who owned many hounds himself.  Mr. Banks was the only man in Melville who kept 'garters' on his long sleeve shirts to hold them away from his wrists.
