My grand-father moved from Germany to New Orleans.  My daddy, Harold Henry Lewis Westerhaus was living in New Orleans when he was contacted to start work at the Merchants and Farmers Bank.  He moved to Melville in 1923 and then married my mother, Dorothy Louise Rice.  My dad passed away in 1957.

Florin H Westerhaus whose wife was Henrietta Westerhaus was my dad's brother.  William Westerhaus whose wife was Myrtle Westerhaus was another of my dad's brothers.  We usually attended the Methodist Church.  I married Jane Thomasson whose brother Joe Thomasson was the Fire Chief for about 49 years.
