The following is a step-by-step pictorial on some of the ways to clean you coins. I will add more as soon as I get them done. Hope these help... Shaner
Just a word of caution. Never clean a valuable coin or relic, just a little soap and water is all you should do.
 | Here's a 1918 wheatie that Michelle found. After cleaning it with soap and water it was almost all green and covered with crud that wouldn't come off so.....
|
 | I plugged in the Crockpot and filled it with Peroxide. You can buy these crockpots at most stores like Walmart for about 15 bucks. Another thing that works well instead of a crockpot is using an ultra-sonic cleaner. As it vibrates the peroxide gets nice and hot and does a great job of cleaning |
| Let the peroxide get good and hot and drop the coin in. After a minute or so it will start bubbling. Let it soak for about 10 minutes along with a toothpick |
| Take it out and use the soaked toothpick to scrap the coin, a cotton swab (Q-tip) also works well for cleaning. Make sure you keep it moist at all times so ya don't scratch it. Repeat the last step as many times as needed until the coin is nice and clean. |
| The same coin after cleaning After Im done I will usually take a small amount of bees wax and rub it on the coin, this keeps it nice and shiney and preserves the coin |
