Barry County Haunts   Table Rock Lake Information Posted By Members <DIR> okay, the biggest one is probably table rock lake. the lake is man-made, and a lot of the older people who were alive when they poured the lake said that there were a few families who refused to leave their homes (the goverment basically said hey, uh, here's a little bit of money, go buy a condo or something and let us have your house, land, etc to pour a lake on). so when the dam opened, these people died. apparently they haunt the lake, pulling people underwater, taking control of boats momentarily, making boat batteries and electric fishing sonar equipment go dead, etc. typical ghost stuff. - alicia   </DIR>   Haunted Cemetery Exeter Information Posted By Members <DIR> in exeter (which is about 3 miles south.. west? of cassville on hwy 86), there's a pretty large cemetary, and one of the headstones is a double headstone for a husband and wife. the husband's birth and death date is there, and the wife's birth date (1860-something), but there's no death date for her. if you go out in the middle of the night, the headstone and grass below it are usually much warmer than the surrounding area, as though the husband is still there, waiting for his wife to join him. it's kind of sad, really. :\ </DIR> - alicia     Haunted Train Tracks Exeter Information Posted By Members <DIR> the traintracks that run from exeter to butterfield are supposed to be haunted with a phantom train - i've never seen it, but i think we heard it once, crossing the tracks down a backroad. we heard a train whistle growing louder in our direction, and sat around and waited for awhile so i could take pictures (i love taking pictures of trains!), but it never came. - alicia   </DIR>   The Old Church Shell Knob Information Posted By Members <DIR> hmm. shell knob has got a TON of crazy stuff. there's an old church that's been converted into an art gallery, and lots of people say they feel as though they're being watched, they feel very peaceful in a certain room, they think they see people out of the corner of their eye and when they turn around they're not there, etc. - alicia                                       </DIR> <DIR></DIR> <DIR></DIR> <DIR></DIR> <DIR></DIR>
