Location: Take I-70 to St.Rd. 5. The mansion is located approx. 9 miles down St.Rd. 9 History:
The plantation was established in 1825 by Nathaniel Leonard. The home has remained in the Leanard family ever since. The original structure burned during the civil war and was rebuilt in the 1980's. The Leonard Family was known to be slave owners and there are reportedly many unmarked slave graves in the family cemetery. Nathaniel Leonard died in the home in 1876 and since then many other family members have passed away on the property. The only report of a tragic death on the grounds that we have found is that of a family member who was crushed while working on his vehicle.
