Our menstrual blood is the water of life and should be held sacred.

The word Taboo means sacred and holy- it is a Polynesian word which has been generalised to mean forbidden.

So here we are growing up in a society that holds such things as sex and periods as taboo or forbidden when it is natural- it is a woman’s life, we are conceived in sex and as young women we accept our bleeding as a natural part of our life.

We need to embrace our cycle- not dread our PMT and our bleeding- we need to celebrate it- listen to the power it holds for us, treasure this special time and nurture ourselves and support each other as sisters. This web space is our chance to explore our feelings, thoughts, creativity that come from being bleeding women.
