| Feng shui for health and well being Use Feng Shui to Keep the Doctor Away While so much emphasis is placed on applying feng shui for wealth accumulation and romance luck, it is also important that you remember to protect your health. What use is all that money if you are unable to enjoy it due to illness! You will find below various methods used to help protect against yearly feng shui afflictions, orientating yourself for positive health and healing and a list of symbolic objects which help focus your positive aspirations for maintaining good health and well-being. ANNUAL FLYING STAR AFFLICTIONS Each year, we need to watch out for certain annual ‘flying star’ afflictions which indicate a higher susceptibility in certain compass sectors of the home and office towards developing illness, being involved in accidents and experiencing a general downturn in luck. These afflictions visit different compass sectors each year, and help explain why the general luck and positive chi felt within a room can change from positive to negative. The location of these flying star/time dimensional afflictions have been predetermined according to mathematical time cycles, element theory and number patterns explored and implemented by feng shui practitioners over the last 3000 years. Through careful and detailed observation of the many repetitive patterns found in nature (including the seasons, ratio of symmetry, positive and negative growth cycles, lunar cycles and their interrelation with all living things on earth), we can pinpoint certain times, places and orientations within our surrounding environment which contain a higher probability of bringing success, illness, misfortune, love and so on. We have all experienced various times when our luck was positive or negative. When you tap into a positive luck cycle, the journey is like riding a wave of synchronicity – you find yourself in the right place at the right time and you are more able to make the most out of opportunities as they arrive. Through the correct application of authentic compass and flying star feng shui, we aim to make the most of the positive luck cycles, and drain the potential for misfortune occurring during negative luck cycles. During 2002, the main areas of concern for negative health chi are the East and South sectors. The East and South sectors contain negative earth element afflictions, which can bring illness, obstacles, accidents and general misfortune to anyone predominantly sleeping or working in these sectors. The negative earth element can be drained by the addition of the metal element, so a very simple way to lessen the negative effect of these afflictions is to place metallic ornaments in these sectors. You can also add the metal element with gold, silver and white colored objects, metallic furniture, curve and dome-shaped metallic objects, a chiming clock, 6 I-Ching coins tied with red string (6 = big metal) or a 6-rod metallic windchime. In the East sector, males, the feet and legs are more vulnerable to the potential negative effects of the annual 5 earth star (also known as the Wu Wang or 5 Yellow). Try to keep the East sector of your home quiet and uncluttered. In the South Sector, females, pregnancy, self-esteem, the eyes and reputation are more vulnerable to the negative effects of the annual 2 earth star (also known as the 2 Black Sickness or Ju Men Star). The South also houses the annual Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) so it’s important that you do not sit at your work desk so that you face directly towards the South this year, (even if it is one of your auspicious directions according to 8 Mansions feng shui) or you will be more likely to encounter many obstacles and possible betrayal. The Flying Star Natal chart of your home or office also warns of any predispositions to illness (or inauspicious number combinations) your living or working space may contain. The combination of annual and monthly flying stars coming together in certain sectors can trigger a natal star chart’s predisposition to letting in negative energy. By applying protective feng shui measures and balancing the elements in these sectors, you can help lessen the impact of these triggers and thus help protect your health. (See our Consultation page for further details on advanced flying star reports). TIEN YI/HEALTH DIRECTION According to 8 Mansions Feng Shui, each person has 4 positive and negative directions and locations. The positive directions can be utilized for added prosperity, health, harmonious relationships and personal development (Note: please click on Kua Analysis if unsure as to your Kua and you will receive a FREE Kua Personality Analysis sent direct to your email inbox). You should try to face towards one of your 4 positive directions when sitting at your desk; have your bedroom and office located in any of these sectors in the home, and if possible, try to have your bed head facing towards any of these directions, while maintaining a solid wall behind your bed head and a clear view of the bedroom door. If the main door to your house faces towards one of these auspicious directions (when standing in the doorway, looking out) then it will be a positive living environment for you. If living in a unit or apartment, the main door is deemed to be the main door to the entire building (ie in the entrance foyer) from street level. Once you know your Kua number, have a look at the list below for your personal Tien Yi/Health direction and location. Kua 1water East Kua 2 earth West Kua 3 wood North Kua 4 wood South Kua 5 earth (male) West Kua 5 earth (female) Northwest Kua 6 metal Northeast Kua 7 metal Southwest Kua 8 earth Northwest Kua 9 fire Southeast Note: the Tien Yi/Health sectors for Kua 1 water and Kua 4 wood people contain the current annual flying star afflictions for 2002, so they should maintain regular health checks this year and keep to a healthy diet with regular exercise. In the kitchen, ensure your electrical cooking appliances are positioned such that the electric plug socket attached to the appliance, points towards your health direction to tap ‘Doctor from Heaven’ luck. If family members who are sickly are a mixture of east and west groups, position an electric water kettle, toaster and a rice cooker to face their respective Tien Yi directions. When sitting at the dining table, face towards your Tien Yi/Health direction. |
