Voting Rules
    1. Voting is open to NYIP Roundtable II members only! 'Outside votes' will not count.
    2. Please view all images in the slideshow before voting, images are displayed in a random order.
    3. You may vote for your own image.

    4. In the case of a tie the winner will be chosen by the forum managers (if the managers themselves have not entered the contest).

    5. Vote for your favorite image that you think most matches the theme.

 

   Note that the images are displayed randomly, when you see the image you wish to vote for you can find the image  number highlighted underneath the image itself. In the voting script to the left, click the circle to the left of the image number of your choice and click 'Vote!'.

The images are displayed in a random slideshow in Adobe Flash. You will need the Flash Plugin to view the slideshow. If you see previous months' images or no images at all, follow the instructions below to clear your browser cache.

 

 

Installing Adobe Flash Player

If you do not have the Adobe Flash Player you can install it by visiting here: http://www.Adobe.com

The Adobe Flash Player is a safe plugin for your browser that allows you to view all types of multimedia content. Sometimes Adobe may try to bundle other things into the plugin - if it asks you if you want to install other things like toolbars or search engines, we recommend you say no - though if you may want to try the software they are offering, go ahead as Adobe will not bundle something into the plugin that will harm your computer.

 

Clearing your Web Browser Cache

Sometimes your Web Browser will store images you see on web pages locally on your computer, this is called Caching and it is intended to make pages loading faster. Unfortunately for some things (including our photo contest slideshow) this can sometimes cause your browser to show a previous version of the images. If you are seeing a previous conests' slideshow you may need to clear your browser cache. Here's how:

• Internet Explorer 6: Go to Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files. Do not choose Delete Cookies! Refresh the page.
• Internet Explorer 7: Go to Tools, Internet Options, in the General Tab click 'Delete..' under Browsing history. A new window will pop up, click 'Delete Files' to the right of 'Temporary Internet Files'. Do not choose Delete Cookies! Refresh the page.
• Firefox: Go to Tools, Options and click the Privacy Icon. Click 'Clear Now' and hit OK. Refresh the page.

 

 

October Photo Contest

Theme: Legendary Color

Deadline: Friday November 2nd, 8PM EST

 

In the hit song Kodachrome, Paul Simon states that 'Everything looks

worse in black and white'. This contest is just not about color, but color so

important to the image that to get rid of it would destroy the photograph.

 

    Image Rules
    1. You must be the original photographer of the image and the photo taken during the summer or fall of 2007.
    2. Image must match the theme given.
    3. One submission per person.
    4. Please, no signatures or borders - we ask this so that voting can be done anonymously.
    5. The image should be submitted as a 72DPI Jpeg, 8 or 80% compression, no longer than 600 pixels on its widest side.
    6. In your submission e-mail include your forum nickname and your full name as it should appear if you are our winner.
