Why Me?
Answers the question. This was true in my case. Relevant to most relationships, across the spectrumof intimacy.

Easy to understand with terrific examples. Personal viewpoint, slant, understanding and insight, relatively freeof jargon, tho I take issue with the concept of "malignant narcissist" as understood. Articulate and refreshing.

"Invalidation goes beyond mere rejection by implying not only that our feelings are disapproved of, but that we are fundamentally abnormal. This implies that there is something wrong with us because we aren't like everyone else; we are strange; we are different; we are weird." Who better at invalidation than narcissists and psychopaths? Some of the conclusions are a bit over the top, but there is much I identified with when dealing with the disordered. Offers a multitude of phrases that serve to invalidate.

Premium site created by Alexandra Nouri. For those who need a breath of icy air/shock therapy.Spoken woman-to-woman /man, with a rather jaundiced yet bracing view. Succinct, direct, clear-eyed, unsentimental, barebones exposition about interacting with a narcissist. By someone who has been there and lived to tell it like it is. A Must-See Site for those who waver. 10

When They're Just Playing - After you've chatted for what seems like a respectable amount of time - clearly you feel it's time to proceed to a phone call. They don't. That's a Red Flag. If they're only ever content to chat online and not on the phone, they're probably not for real.. Highly Recommended. If only I knew then what I know now....

Have you had a close relationship with a socialised psychopath? A checklist.

Hare's well-used Psychopathy Checklist, and discussion regarding Psychopathy vs Anti-Social Personality- clarifies how the two differ in fundamental ways.
View the details of this row. Mask of Sanity: Cleckley*
Hervey Cleckley's authoritative list of psychopathic traits and a few brief excerpts from his book, "Mask of Sanity". Still remains the best exposition of the inner life of psychopaths/disordered individuals imo. *Narcissism is considered a less severe form of psychopathy.

More elaboration and insight from Cleckley. An absolutely remarkable delineation! *Narcissism is considered aless severe form of psychopathy. 10
View the details of this row. The Partial Psychopath
More from the brilliant Cleckley. Argues that severity of psychopathy makes for different kinds of adaptive functioning. Would probably compare well with the concept of the "socialised psychopath"."They occasionally appear on casual inspection as successful members of the community, as able lawyers, executives, or physicians..."

Detailed descriptive history of one disordered physician's behaviour by Cleckley. Not what we expect. Fascinating. And they do get away with it.*Narcissism is considered a less severe form of psychopathy. 10
